Annual Beach Trip

Last week was our family trip to the outer banks. We are extra lucky this year that we get to go back next week with our cousins!!

The garden

The garden continues to be everyone's favorite pastime here; it's so much for the kids and it gets me away from my dissertation!
I'm guessing we will have to double the size of everything next year....

Baseball Pictures

Jacob's team pictures arrived. It still makes me cringe to see him in a freaking Mets hat. His comment to me after his last game was "Next year I'll be good enough for the Yankees."

Life has been busy

Wowza! Life's been busy. I'm on page 60 of an 80 page report, have edits to make on two other papers, and really ought have my dissertation proposal started by now. Atti is now down with preschool; I'm expecting him to go thru withdrawal soon. Jake desperately wants to be done with school, and I am fairly sure his recent cold is somehow related to his school avoidance. Dave is tenured and somehow still just as busy. Gus is large, drooly, and more drooly. The hot temperatures always bring out the grossest size of the moose.
In theory life slows down mid June. Right....

Busy busy

Back to the grind! While we were in LA last month we had so much fun. Skiing, cousins, cake. It was a whirlwind of fun. Batman was on the plane and the tide pools were a hit.

Jacob's Birthday Party

 For Jacob's seventh birthday he asked for a Harry Potter party.  We had tons of magical games and activities for the kids.

During the party Jacob got sorted into Gryffindor, after much deliberation on the part of the sorting hate.

After the sorting it was time for the banquet and then classes.

It was a busy and fun day for everyone.

The Banquet and Herbology

 Our house elf was lazy and ordered pizza for the banquet.  The pumpkin juice was constantly changing colors.

After the banquet the kids quickly went off to Charms where they learned to levitate a feather with their new wands.
